The police department is partnering with Chick-fil-a to reward students for good behavior, issuing tickets for a free item at the fast-food chain.
Lt. Derek Hudson says many children only interact with police when something bad happens. He believes the positive reinforcement will create a more trusting environment, and eventually a better community.
"We've got a lot of really good kids here that don't get recognized," Hudson says. "That's what this is all about."
Police distributed 1,000 tickets to the resource officers, and say every school is participating.
