ARKANSAS -- The Arkansas Department of Health has confirmed seven flu deaths so far this season, including two children.

Kerry Krell with the department said the records included all confirmed cases since September 29th and added that the flu is widespread across the state. Two children under the age of four, four adults (25-65) and one senior (65 or older) have died.

Krell said this season's numbers so far are similar to last year in terms of flu activity and number of cases.  The 2012-2013 flu season was one of the worst in the past three decades, according to the state.
