Sheriff Investigates Report of Rape Inside Jail

WASHINGTON COUNTY, AR-- Two Washington County jail detainees are accused of rape.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said they responded to the reported rape at the  County Detention Center on December 12. According to reports, the incident involved detainees in the same cell. The Sheriff's Office jail staff said they "took swift action to protect the victim as soon as they became aware of the situation"

Based on evidence and eyewitness accounts, detectives said Javaughntaiye Willis, 21 of Fayetteville, and Jdonta Britt, 19, of Springdale, face multiple charges including felony rape, terroristic threatening, and battery.

Willis was accused of threatening a taxi driver with a machete and robbing him back in July.  In 2011, Willis was arrested on animal cruelty charges that he killed his grandmother's dog and cat because "needed to kill something."

Back in June, Britt was arrested, along with two others in connection to a beating and robbery that sent a victim to the hospital.
