Shoplifting Suspect Leads Police on High Speed Chase

VAN BUREN, AR— Police say Darren Dewayne Cripps 50, led police on a high speed chase after shoplifting from Walmart Wednesday afternoon.
VAN BUREN, AR— Police say Darren Dewayne Cripps 50, led police on a high speed
chase after shoplifting from Walmart Wednesday afternoon.

When police attempted to stop the car Cripps was driving, he
fled leading police on a pursuit to Dora on Rena Road, says Lt. Brent Grill.

Lt. Grill says Cripps started driving reckless and that’s when
police called off the pursuit.

Cripps was seen getting on I-40 heading to Oklahoma, say
officials.

Oklahoma authorities found Cripps vehicle abandoned along
I-40 near Roland, but Cripps had fled the on foot, leaving some of the clothing
he was wearing next to the car, says Lt. Grill.

Police say Darren Dewayne Cripps is facing two felony
charges, Felony Fleeing in a vehicle, Felony Commercial Burglary and due to
Cripps being on parole, a Parole Violation will also be added to his charges.
