Springdale, Ft. Smith Teachers Finalists for Teacher of the Year

SPRINGDALE, AR-- Two Northwest Arkansas educators are among the four finalists for the Arkansas Teacher of the Year award.
SPRINGDALE, AR-- Two Northwest Arkansas educators are among the four finalists for the Arkansas Teacher of the Year award.

Debra lamb who teaches 10th through 12th grade at Har-ber High School in Springdale and Lisa Gray, a kindergarten through second grade teacher at Sunnymede Elementary in Fort Smith, Each received $1,000 checks from the Walton Family Foundation when they were named among 16 regional finalists.

Now, as finalists, they'll be interviewed by the Arkansas Teacher of the Year selection review committee over the next two weeks.

The 2014 teacher of the year will be named during a surprise notification event.

The other two finalists are Jonathan Crossley, an 11th and 12th-grade English teacher at Palestine Wheatley High School in the Palestine Wheatley School District and Sue Johnston, a first-grade teacher at Eagle Mountain Magnet School in the Batesville School District.
