SPRINGDALE, AR-- Springdale Fire Department Paramedics received training Wednesday that could help save young lives.

They were put through a refresher course in Pediatric Advanced Life Support in order to stay up to date on any changes that are made to the standard procedures.

It also serves as practice to keep them well trained to handle what they describe as some of the most stressful calls they handle.

Chief James Hales says the training is a part of a certification process the medics have to complete every two years.
