SPRINGDALE, AR-- Springdale police hope an upcoming event will make those with warrants step up and turn themselves in.
SPRINGDALE, AR-- Springdale police hope an upcoming event will make those with warrants step up and turn themselves in.

The department will be holding a Warrant Amnesty Week from November 12th through November 15.  While Amnesty Week doesn't dismiss any charges, it does give folks the chance to get a court date and be released without having to post a bond. Police said, this way, the person can then work with the judge, prosecutor and their attorney to get their case resolved quickly.

This is the first year they've offered this sort of program.  There are around 10,000 active warrants out in Springdale, according to police.

People interested in turning themselves in or if you have questions about the program, contact the departments Warrants Division at 479-750-8568.

This applies to Springdale Police Department warrants only.
