SWAT Teams Train in Bentonville

Local SWAT teams spent the last two weeks training for hostage rescue with live scenarios.
Bentonville, AR - Local SWAT teams spent the last two weeks training for hostage rescue with live scenarios.
The Bentonville Police Department hosted the the National Tactical Officers Association program at a set of townhouses near the downtown square,

"It provides a real real life type scenario," says Chief Jon Simpson. "They're running one drill after another with different circumstances with persons that have been taken hostage."

The Rogers and Bentonville teams ran exercises Friday, but SWAT members from as far away as Iowa traveled to Northwest Arkansas to participate.

The Chief says Bentonville is lucky to be hosting the training, because it makes it cheaper for local police to participate, and the SWAT members are still in town, if an actual situation arises.
