SPRINGDALE, AR -- The Northwest Arkansas Naturals were swinging for a cure at Arvest Ballpark.

The event is benefited the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States.

It was all about raising awareness Saturday night, and one lucky teen got the chance to hit the pitcher's mound.

"Luke McFadden was throwing out the first pitch. He was recently diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. He's been fighting the disease and seems to be doing well... We wanted to honor him," said Justin Cole, General Manager of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
