LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A former Mount St. Mary Academy teacher who was fired after marrying her female partner in New Mexico already has a new job.

According to the Arkansas Times, Tippi McCullough has been employed by the Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD) to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes as a bridge to a permanent job, which she has already obtained.

Max Brantley writes that McCullough has been hired to teach ninth grade pre-AP English classes at Central High School beginning Jan. 6.

McCullough was fired from Mount St. Mary Academy for violating her contract's morality clause after the school learned about her marriage to Barbara Mariani, her partner of 14 years.
