The Springdale Education Association hosted a "Public School Employee Health Insurance Forum" Thursday evening at the Jones Center. Northwest Arkansas public school employees with health care questions came together and tried to track down answers.
The concern for several employees is that the cost of health insurance has been skyrocketing since 2012.
"Every year it seems like public school employees are having to put in more money for health insurance... So we were talking about where we are, what we're going to do, and how we're going to demand and urge the government and legislators to fix this problem," said Brenda Robinson, President of the Arkansas Education Association and a middle school teacher.
The Arkansas Education Association is also encouraging public school employees to speak up and for folks in the community to have rallies to get everyone involved and raise awareness.
