Two students were shot Friday inside a gym at the Delaware Valley Charter High School in Philadelphia. The 15-year-old victims are both being treated and are in stable condition. A police spokesman says the student responsible for the shooting left the building. They are urging the gunman to surrender and are not sure if the shooting was intentional or accidental.

Firefighters are battling a 17-hundred-acre wildfire in suburban Los Angeles. Three people have been arrested for accidentally starting it and are facing possible felony charges. The blaze, about 30 miles from downtown L.A., led to thousands of evacuations and destroyed five houses.

The Supreme Court has agreed to review a pair of appeals over whether police must obtain a warrant to search data on the cell phone of a person under arrest. The cases involve suspects in Massachusetts and California who were convicted, in part after phone numbers and text messages linked them to drug and gang activity.

The Mississippi man accused of sending ricin-laced letters to President Obama and others pleaded guilty in federal court today. Federal authorities arrested James Dutschke last year in April. Investigators said he developed the deadly poison and sent it in letters to the president, a senator and a judge. Dutschke is expected to get 25 years in prison.
