A TSA officer is dead after a shooting in Los Angeles International Airport. The Los Angeles Airport police chief says a man with an assault rifle approached a security checkpoint inside Terminal 3. The FBI has identified the suspect as a 23-year-old resident of Los Angeles -- he was shot and taken into custody. Seven people were injured as people ran to flee the gunman.
Police found a sophisticated drug tunnel that went from Mexico to the United States and was a long as six football fields in San Diego. Investigators found the tunnel on Wednesday. They say it went from Tijuana, Mexico to a warehouse in San Diego-- for the sole purpose of moving drugs into the United States. In addition to shutting down the tunnel-- police made three arrests -- seized more than eight tons of marijuana and a first for one of these drug tunnels 325 pounds of cocaine.
Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud has been killed in a drone strike. However, similar claims about his death have been made in the past, and were proved untrue. Intelligence sources and tribal officials say two missiles were fired into the remote Waziristan region along the Afghan border. Three other people were also killed.
Germany is the first country in Europe to allow parents to not specify their child's gender on birth certificates. Supporters of the new law say this takes the pressure off parents to immediately assign a child's gender. Intersex advocates call the new law only a first step towards acceptance.
Katy Perry -- telling an Australian radio show that rolling stones legend Mick Jagger hit on her 11 years ago -- when she was 18. Perry says she harbors no ill-will over the incident and says since then he's been quote - very kind. But Jagger's spokesperson denied any attempt at seduction by the rocker - saying she must be confused.
