Heavy snow, brutal winds and potentially record-low temperatures are making their way toward the Northeast. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in many Northeastern states, with parts of Long Island under a blizzard warning until Friday afternoon. The storm has already hit across the Midwest, blanketing roads in Ohio and Indiana and pounding parts of Wisconsin and Minnesota where temperatures were forecast to reach 40 below zero.

Hundreds of people waited in long lines for hours to take advantage of the new law. Residents can buy one ounce of cannabis which can cost 200 dollars or more. People from out of state can buy up to a quarter-ounce.
After 10 days stranded in the Antarctic, all 52 passengers on board a stricken ship have been rescued. It's the latest chapter in a saga that began Christmas Eve after the Russian vessel got stuck in unusually thick ice. A Chinese helicopter that finally plucked all 52 passengers off the stranded research vessel.
A new round of Middle East peace talks as Secretary of State John Kerry has traveled to the region to help broker a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. Kerry's visit comes as the Obama Administration seeks to maintain U.S. interests in the turbulent region, from upheaval in Syria to violence in Iraq.
The Robertson family of "Duck Dynasty" fame has launched their own line of guns. Gunmaker Mossberg is partnering with the Robertson-owned "Duck Commander" to release 9 different shotguns, 2 semiautomatic rifles, and a semiautomatic pistol. The pistol and one of the rifles will have military-style designs, with large capacity magazines. No word yet which specific retailers will carry them.
