A deadly blast of wintry weather is threatening to disrupt travel plans for some in the Northeast... It's a system that's responsible for a dozen deaths and over 100 car accidents so far, as millions of Americans prepare to head home for Thanksgiving. Nearly 500 flights have been canceled out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in the past two days.

Yale University was put on alert after an anonymous phone call this morning reported a person with a gun near or on the campus. The lockdown was lifted hours later. Students are on Thanksgiving vacation this week, but authorities did advise people on campus to take immediate shelter.. New Haven Police Chief said "we aren't taking anything for chance." And we'll continue to investigate each report. No gunfire and no injuries were reported.

It's been almost a year since the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn. A report released Monday sheds new light on the attack. Investigators say the gunman acted alone as he entered Sandy Hook Elementary School. But the new report still leaves questions unanswered for families of the victims, including the 26 killed. The report offers no clues about why he chose Sandy Hook. The report did reveal that he had mental issues, but investigators did not say whether that had any role in the shooting.

At the box office this weekend-- "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" sets a record for November. The second installment of the franchise took in more than $160 dollars -- the highest ever for a November opening. That pushed "Thor: The Dark World" to second place and "The Best Man Holiday" was third. As far as Vince Vaughn comedy "Delivery Man," also opening this weekend, the odds were not in its favor -- it wound up as a distant fourth at around 8-million-dollars.

Taylor Swift sweeps the American Music Awards. She won four different awards this year, including "Artist of the Year," for the third year in a row. She thanked her fans and also talked a bit about her upcoming album. She said 13 is her lucky number, and that her fans have made 2013 a "magical year."
