Thursday's Shooting Suspect Caught

A man who police say shot at his girlfriend in Tontitown has been taken into custody.
A Tontitown shooting suspect on the run since Thursday has been caught.

20-year-old Austin Wenger now faces attempted murder and aggravated assault charges after police say he fired a gun in the direction of his pregnant girlfriend.

Thursday, officers responded to a call on Arbor Acres Road where Wenger's girlfriend says the couple got into an argument.

She tells police Wenger put his hand around her throat before putting a gun to her head and threatening to kill her and their unborn child.

According to a police report, Wenger fired multiple shots in her direction as he drove away.

He now sits in the Washington County jail with a bond hearing set for Monday.
