Randy Byureen with Bud's Heating and Electric in Lowell says keeping up with your heating unit is the key to energy efficiency.
He says, “A well maintained system is going to be able to operate anytime you need it”.
Improving heat efficiency in your home can be as easy as changing the filter.
“We get a lot of calls where the filter is blocked off and it's not allowing the furnace to run.”
Byureen says improving energy efficiency might mean updating your thermostat.
“You’re going to want a digital thermostat that is not controlled by mercury”.
He says if you have a newer thermostat, your heating unity will run more efficiently.
