FAYETTEVILLE, AR-- Fayetteville Parks and Recreation started setting up lights back in October and 3000 man hours later, hundreds filled the Fayetteville square for the illumination.
With a flip of the switch, more than 400,000 bulbs lit the Fayetteville town square on Saturday as the parade marched through for Lights of the Ozarks.
"I love the lights!"
It's the annual event that folks in Northwest Arkansas look forward to each year.
"All the lights and all the decorations make you get in the Christmas spirit."
"I just love the cold weather and how the beautiful lights are."
For some folks, it's all about the romance.
"It's something we like to do every year to get out and kick off the holiday season."
"We're married and this is a place we used to come back when we were dating. It has good memories for us."
For others, it's about creating new traditions for the whole family.
"i just like getting together with family."
