UPDATE:  Emails sent to then-mayor Francis Hime from West Fork City Clerk Marsha Hungate shows tension between the two city leaders.

In an email sent October 27, Hungate calls the mayor "deceitful, conniving, and self absorbed."  In an earlier email, dated October 24, the city clerk accuses Hime of mishandling the announcement of information from the City Planning Commission.

Hime abruptly resigned from the mayor position on Tuesday via a letter.  No reason was given for the resignation.

WEST FORK, AR-- A Northwest Arkansas mayor vacates her seat first thing Tuesday morning and by the end of  that night's city council meeting, a new one was appointed.

In a letter to the aldermen Tuesday, Frances Hime asked for her final paycheck to come in the mail and donated her office furniture to the city - ultimately stepping down as West Fork Mayor.

As far as the reason behind the abrupt resignation, Hime's letter was pretty vague.  Council members met Tuesday night and by the end of the hour and a half meeting a new mayor was sworn in.

Charlie Rosetti will act as mayor on an interim term.
