CONWAY, AR -- Folks with a Faulkner County animal rescue organization are being accused of stealing supplies meant for pets of tornado victims.
CONWAY, AR -- Folks with a Faulkner County animal rescue organization are being accused of stealing supplies meant for pets of tornado victims.

There have been several reports of theft filed with the sheriff's department against Faulkner County SPCA.

Volunteers in the group are being accused of taking things like food and crates from one of the drop off locations.

Those -- working for other non-profits -- say it's important to keep all donations protected so those donations will keep coming in.

Julann Carney, with Sherwood Animal Shelter Helpers, said, "You've got to absolutely have transparency in this type of situation and there's so many people out there donating and contributing, it's really important to know where your dollars are going to."

The director of the Faulkner County SPCA only told us no one in her organization would steal from victims, but she had no further comment.

If you would like to help with donations for animals impacted by the storm, you can drop off items or monetary donations at the Humane Society of Faulkner County.

The number there is: (501) 329-2361.

The address is: 2219 Washington Ave, Conway, AR 72032

Some of the donations needed include wired crates, portable kennels, bowls, collars and leashes.
