"This is like 50 homes. People got up, went to church this morning, went to work, came home, and these [homes] were all here like 4 hours ago, 5 hours ago. It is devastating," said Congressman Griffin.
More than 40 members of the National Guard were activated as a State of Emergency was declared in four Arkansas counties. Governor Mike Beebe confirmed more than a dozen people in Arkansas were killed in Sunday's tornado outbreak. The twister that hit Mayflower crossed interstate 40, and debris shut down both directions for hours. The Arkansas National Guard was called to help with debris removal. Governor Beebe is expected to tour Mayflower and Vilonia Monday morning.
