Deputies say a disturbance call and several more calls came in to dispatch at 8:55 PM Saturday night, and upon arrival on scene, they discovered it was something more.
According to Benton County, Watson and two females were trying to swim from one point at Martin's Bluff to the Hickory Creek side of the lake. Watson's body was found in water that was 35-40 feet deep. He was not wearing a life jacket.
No drugs or alcohol are thought to play a part in the incident, and no foul play suspected, but a toxicology report will be done, deputies say.
According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, this is the first drowning on Beaver Lake this year.
