Easter Feast for Hundreds in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- We had the Farmers' Market on the Fayetteville Square and bed races down Dickson Street, but an annual Easter feed was also happening right up the street.

FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- We had the Farmers' Market on the Fayetteville Square and bed races down Dickson Street, but an annual Easter feed was also happening right up the street.

The 21st Annual Trent Trumbo Memorial Easter Feed brought hundreds to Central United Methodist Church on Dickson Street. A home cooked meal of turkey, ham, green beans, dressing, rolls, everything you can think of, was served up hot for the homeless, the elderly, the unemployed and anyone else in need.

"We have close to 10,000 people that are food insecure right here in Northwest Arkansas... Fayetteville is a tale of two cities... I'm very fortunate, I'm blessed. I get as many meals as I want, but some of my neighbors don't," said volunteer Merlin Augustine.

The event is put on by volunteers with the M & N Augustine Foundation and they have kept busy over the years, serving more than 6,500 meals.
