It's one of the greatest sounds in sports. The trumpet before the big race. Here is Friday's edition of "Over the Edge News".

That trumpet sound can only mean one thing, the 17th annual wiener dog races this weekend in Seattle. The dogs are all purebred dachshunds. And they are all awesome.

In San Francisco, the city celebrates the 50th  annual Cable Car Bell Ringing Championships. Grips and conductors squared off in the traditional test of rhythm, wit and dexterity. No word on who won.

And in Death Valley, after a national park employee posted a video of an egg being cooked in the sun, the park is now being littered with egg shells and cartons from visitors. The Death Valley National Park has made a public plea on their Facebook page asking visitors to stop frying eggs on the ground.   Temperatures in Death Valley this week have peaked at 129 degrees.
