WASHINGTON COUNTY, AR -- One person has been killed, after being hit by a car in Washington County.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, AR -- One person has been killed after being hit by a car in Washington County. According to Central EMS, they received a call about the incident on Little Elm Road & Highway 62, west of Farmington at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
The victim, Deborah Hildebrand, 46, was running east on Highway 62, according to Prairie Grove police. Captain Jeff O'Brien said a preliminary investigation determined that Jason Purvis, 35 was driving his black Jeep west when it crossed right of roadway and entered onto the shoulder of the highway, hitting the jogger. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was ticketed for negligent homicide, reckless driving and driving right of roadway.
