A modern-day Amelia Earhart is taking a trip around the world in tribute to the famous pilot. Amelia Rose Earhart, 31, yes that's her real name, took off Thursday from Oakland, California. She will follow the same flight plan her namesake took in 1937. Earhart quit her job as a TV traffic and weather reporter in Denver to plan for the adventure. She is attempting to fly 28,000 miles, covering 14 countries.

Walmart is cutting iPhone prices. With a two-year contract, a 16-gigabyte iPhone 5S will cost $99, down from $149. The 16-gigabyte iPhone 5C will be just $29, down from $49. The deal is only for purchases made at Walmart stores, not online. The price slash is fueling speculation that Apple is preparing to release a new phone.

The supreme court has ruled unanimously to strike down a Massachusetts law that created no-protest "buffer zones" on public property surrounding health clinics that perform abortions. Massachusetts officials said the issue was more about public safety and pedestrian access on local sidewalks. Anti-abortion supporters countered that their first amendment rights were being violated.

New developments in the bizarre case of a missing boy in Detroit who was found in his father's basement Wednesday. Twelve-year-old Charlie Bothuell's stepmother was arrested Thursday for a probation violation on an unrelated weapons charge. The boy is currently with his biological mother. His father, also named Charlie, is not allowed to have any contact with him while his son's disappearance is being investigated.
