SEBASTIAN COUNTY -- A woman faces attempted murder charges after deputies say she used a handgun to take three shots at her husband.

On March 11, Sebastian County Sheriff’s Deputies got a report of a domestic disturbance at a home at 500 block of S. Monroe Way in Midland, AR.

Deputies at the scene said they found Chas McDowell, 38, and his wife, Nicole McDowell, 32. The deputies reported discovering McDowell fired multiple times at her husband though he was not hit by any of the shots.

During the struggle, deputies said Chas had attempted to run away from the home and Nicole chased him in a pickup, eventually crashing into a tree.

Chas McDowell had reportedly gotten the handgun away from his wife by the time deputies arrived. Investigators say Chas had hit Nicole in the head with some binoculars "in an effort to get away from her."

Deputies say the couple had been using methamphetamine.

Chas McDowell was charged with being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Nicole McDowell was arrested on an Attempted Murder charge after admitting to investigators that she shot at her husband with intention to kill him. She has no bond at this time.
