Arkansas Basketball Recap: Overtime Lose To Florida

The mistakes were apparent, but not the ultimate downfall- the word used for that is execution.
"You know, we had a lot of mental errors, mental breakdowns, just fixable thing, but mistakes happen and we've got to learn from them." says Junior Rashad Madden.

The mistakes were apparent, but not the ultimate downfall- the word used for that is execution.

"We didn't execute. Let them go to the free throw line. Let them make plays. Offensive transitioning, we didn't get back." adds Senior Coty Clarke.

For the majority of Saturday's game, The Hogs played well. Both Coty Clarke and Rashad Madden were on fire from the three point line- making eight threes between the two of them.

"I was just stepping up to coach's challenge and trying to help my team win this basketball game." continues Clarke.

"The only thing we didn't defend well was the three point line. I think if you look at their overall field goal percentage it was below 40%, but the thing that really kept them there was the three point shooting." says Florida Head Coach Billy Donovan.

If the three's kept them in the game, then the free throw line lost it for them. Especially when it mattered the most.

"He makes the free throws, it's a different ball game. He didn't. So that gave them an opportunity to tie the game and they did." says Arkansas Head Coach Mike Anderson.

The Razorbacks lead by as much as 7 in regulation, but not holding on to the lead all goes back to that one word- Execution.

"This one hurts, you know why, because we thought we played well enough. We did all the things- when you talk about statistically- holding them to 40%, just making them work for everything. But the bottom line, we didn't finish it when we had the chance to." adds Anderson.
