SEC Media days is an early reminder that we're about three weeks before the start of of August Camp for the 14 league teams and six weeks from the start of the 2014 season. What will be the Razorbacks main message in Birmingham after a disasterous 0-8 conference record in 2013?
Brandon Allen-Junior Quarterback
"There's really no off season for us. I think the whole team is taken that and we've all grasped the idea that we're all trying to get better and you can't take a whole month off and expect to be on point in July."
This summer, for the first time, coaches can participate with the players on a limited basis in the June and July voluntary summer practice sessions. The competition has already started especially at running back where Jonathan Williams, Alex Collins and Korliss Marshall will all be battling for playing time in a process that will likely last the entire season.
Jonathan Williams-Junior Running Back
"It's up to the coaches. You just got to go out there every day and put your best effort, your best foot forward everyday and try to prove that you can be the guy. But we have great running backs in the room and it's one of the strengths of our football team so the more than we can all three of us on the field the better the team."
Mike Irwin-The Hogs chances for an improved passing game will almost certainly start at tight end where freshman sensation Hunter Henry returns free of injury this season to be joined by former quarterback A.J. Derby who had an amazing spring and the otther impressive freshman a season ago: Jeremy Sprinkle.
Hunter Henry- Sophomore Tight End
"Moving A.J. Derby and Sprinkle, they're all going to be big for us in the tight end room. Volsky, We're all working together as a corp just to try to make each other better. The competition is great in the room but I think having those multiple threats on the field is going to be a great thing for us."
