Breakfast Buzz: Kids Raking in the Cash from Allowances

Kids are raking in the cash after receiving hefty allowances in 2017.  That story tops this morning's Breakfast Buzz. That's according to a survey from allowance tracker Rooster Money.  They found kids between the ages of four and 14 received an average allowance of $454 over the course of 2017. When you break it down, that's about $8.74 a week.

Coca-Cola says its diet brand is getting new packaging, which includes slimmer cans. And as you can see, four new flavors are joining the Diet Coke family. They are ginger lime, feisty cherry, blood orange and twisted mango. some experts believe the makeover is a bid to turn millennials into diet Coke drinkers. The "new look" will be on U.S. shelves this month.

 A new British study followed a group of healthy adults who slept less than seven hours a night. Scientists noticed people who increased their sleep time by just an hour or 90 minutes made better food choices. They ate less sugar and fewer carbs than those who slept less. Previous research has shown a link between sleep deprivation and obesity.
