FAYETTEVILLE -- According to a recent consumer survey by Arvest Bank, Arkansans are optimistic about their personal finances. The survey reports 28% of people in the Natural State expect their financial situation to improve in the next year, while over half expect it to remain the same. Only 20% believe their finances will take a hit in the upcoming year.
Even though people are confident in their individual finances, the majority is still concerned about future business conditions. A reported 53% expect poor business conditions in 2015.
This pessimism stems from 65% of Arkansans saying they expect widespread unemployment in the next 5 years. Arvest plans to conduct this research every six months, with the next survey scheduled for November.
