FAYETTEVILLE, AR (Northwest Arkansas)--The Samaritan Community Center conducted a school supplies drive with enough support to fill 3,300 backpacks for kids from low-income families.

Families with a qualifying ticket received a backpack today, filled with age appropriate school supplies. Round Mountain Community Church was one of many locations for folks to pick up some supplies.

"A lot of people can't afford to buy a lot of the supplies and the backpacks. It is very costly and a lot of people just can't afford it," said Senior Pastor Tim Beers.
He said these kids need the extra help before school starts later this month.

There were also free health and dental screenings and haircuts for families.
