Bomb Squad Responds to Scare in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- The Bentonville bomb squad assisted Fayetteville police with a bomb scare in Fayetteville Wednesday afternoon.

Officers closed Sycamore Street near College as the worked the scene on Ash Street.  Police said they got a call to check on a suicidal person on the 400 block of E Ash.  When officers arrived, they saw what they believed to be a makeshift pipe bomb inside a car and called for the bomb squad.

The scene was cleared by 4:30 and police said there was no further threat to the area.
