SPRINGDALE, AR-- A downed power line caused a grass fire and more than 2,000 outages in Springdale Thursday night. According to the Springdale Fire Department, crews were called out to the area south of Don Tyson Parkway along U.S. 71B just before 6:00 P.M. Thursday. We're told a tree fell on a power line in the area, sparking a fire on the north side of Weichert Realtors at the 5100 block of South Thompson Street. Crews were able to get the flames under control within 30 minutes. No one was hurt. As of 7:30 Thursday night, Southwest Electric Power Company showed 1,071 customers still without power.
