BENTONVILLE, AR -- Thursday, local businesses buzzed after hours for the Bentonville's "Around the Bloc" event. Participating downtown stores and restaurants are keeping their doors open from 6-9pm.
Downtown Bentonville Marketing and PR Manager Cher Evans says the decision to stay open late will cater to changes happening in the growing community, inspiring people to shop and eat locally.
"Well one of the reasons that we want to do it is, you know, to help with the economic development that's in downtown," said Evans. "The other reason is because Bentonville is um creating um a nightlife. It's emerging, but it's there."
"Around the Bloc" takes place the third Thursday of every month from June until October. Visitors can fill a passport by visiting local businesses for a chance to win a gift card.
