FAYETTEVILLE - The downtown Fayetteville parking deck is getting closer to breaking ground. Next week, the city council will consider bids for the first phase of the project, which involves demolishing the Walton Arts Center administrative offices and excavating the site. Planners say the demolition would start around the second week of August. The city will send out ads for construction bids in a few weeks. The multi-million dollar deck is expected to take 10-12 months to build.
