First NWA Technology Summit Held in Rogers

ROGERS-- The first Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit brought more than 400 people to the John Q. Hammons Center August 11. The event was from 7:30 am to 1 pm and tickets were $59 for members of the Northwest Arkansas Tech Council and $99 for non-members. 

People in attendance ranged from executives to small business owners and the summit had multiple speakers, panelists and breakout sessions. Topics included ways people can use technology to help their business and organization save time, money and grow. The speakers were Jeff Amerine, Director of the University of Arkansas Technology Ventures and keynote speaker Karenann Terrell, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Walmart Stores Inc. 

"There is so much tecnology going on in this area, so this was something that was needed to bring everyone together," said Tammy Thurow, Vice President of Marketing and Membership for the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce.
