Fox News Edge Announces Laine Baker as New Anchor

FAYETTEVILLE -- KFTA-TV announced Tuesday KNWA Today morning anchor Laine Baker will take over the desk as the Fox News Edge main anchor.

Baker anchored KNWA Today for more than four years, and started out anchoring KNWA weekends. During her time on KNWA Today
she brought viewers the latest headlines for three political cycles, multiple severe weather events – including live reports from tornado damage in Joplin, raised awareness for dozens of local non-profits, spent hundreds of hours in the community volunteering and helped expand the morning newscast to a longer format that offers more local news and weather. When asked about the move to nights, Baker said, "I have loved my time on KNWA Today, but am very excited about this new opportunity. Fox is such a unique, anchor-driven show, and I can’t wait to be a part of it." Baker plans on adding more local headlines to the Fox News Edge while not detracting from its fast pace and unique style.

"This new Fox show will keep the best of the past, but also look at some new and exciting ways to set us apart for future viewers,” Baker said. Her first day on the Fox News Edge will be Thursday, May 15th.

Fox Weekend Edge Anchor/Reporter Marissa Kargas will join the KNWA Today team as co-anchor beginning Monday, May 26th.
