SILOAM SPRINGS, AR -- Funeral services were held Saturday for the Siloam Springs firefighter killed in a car accident last week.

The service for Matthew Tanner Rundle was held April 12th at 1:00 P.M. at the Christian Life Cathedral on 1285 Millsap Road.

According to a release from the city, crews responded to a deadly accident at Fairmount Road and Highway 412 on Sunday afternoon at around 2:00. Emergency workers realized Rundle, a recent hire at the Siloam Springs Fire Department, was the victim. Investigators say Rundle's vehicle hit an 18-wheeler crossing the highway. He was the only person inside the car.

"Tanner had already established a reputation of being a very conscientious and hardworking employee who was well-respected by his colleagues," Siloam Springs Fire Chief Greg Neely said in a press release.
