"Girl Rising" Documentary Showing at Fayetteville Performing Arts Center

FAYETTEVILLE, AR. --- Fayetteville Public Schools is joining forces with Meryl Streep and other big names to encourage women in leadership roles. 

        Fayetteville Public Schools will have a free screening of the documentary on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Fayetteville Performing Arts Center at Fayetteville High School.

The documentary is a feature film about nine girls around the globe, which is narrated by Streep, Anne Hathaway and Selena Gomez among other women.
The district hopes the film will re-enforce its mission in Northwest Arkansas; that investing in women can benefit communities here and around the world.
