The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announcing millions of dollars in federal grant money Thursday.
The 7hills Homeless Center in Fayetteville is one of four non-profits in the Natural State to receive a portion of that grant.
The $180,000 investment will directly support a branch of the 7hills program called DeNovo, which provides affordable housing options for individuals and families.
"Sometimes just giving people some hope means a lot. And when you give people dignity and you give people hope and you give them opportunities to improve their life. That makes a huge difference," said 7hills Director Michael Drager.
The program consists of 18 transitional and 24 permanent housing units integrated within the Northwest Arkansas community. The assistance lasts for up to 2 years, helping until individuals can regain financial independence.
