Saturday marked the 15th Annual Walk for Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that affects the central nervous system. Supporters showed up to walk for everybody who has MS including friends, co-workers and loved ones.
"My mom has had MS for 20 years and I've experienced what it feels like to be a caregiver and I just want to do everything I can to help out and one day hopefully there will be a cure for all those affected," said Katherine Davis, a student volunteer.
More than 500 people made the walk around Lake Fayetteville, helping raise more than $50,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
If you were not able to run for the cause on Saturday, you can eat for the cause on Monday. It is happening April 21, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Zaxby's on SE J Street in Bentonville. You can buy a meal, place your receipt in a box at the register and Zaxby's will donate 10-percent of your total to the National MS Society.
