FORT SMITH -- A new compressed natural gas fueling station opens in the river valley. The new fueling station located on Savannah Street is one of two stations in Fort Smith.
Officials say with "CNG" becoming more popular in the river valley, the second station is needed and they are happy to provide it.
"It's very exciting to see the growth. I mean, not only from the fact that it's a clean energy, but the fact that we don't import compressed natural gas or natural gas, we are producing that right here in the United States," said AOG Chief Executive Officer, Mike Callan.
Compressed natural gas is about a dollar-fifty to two dollars cheaper than regular gasoline. Experts say to expect more privately-owned fueling stations popping up in our area in the future.
