FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- The Walton Arts Center has announced a new urban art installation, "Under the Stars," by street artist Maser.
It will be part of 2014 Artosphere: Arkansas Arts and Nature Festival.
Work on the installation has begun on the lawn of Nadine Baum Studios in Fayetteville.
Maser's work, designed as 3D painting, will have multiple functions once it's completed.
"It's designed to be a stage, as well as a space that people can use for performances as part of the Artosphere," Maser said.
The piece will also be used for community events and gatherings.
"Just a space for people to enjoy, interact with, stand on, sit on," Maser said. "That's when it really comes to life."
"Under the Stars" will debut at the Artosphere Celebration on May 16.
It will remain on the Frisco Trail, and there will be opportunities to repurpose and relocate the piece.
