ROGERS, AR -- The Rogers Animal Shelter is one of three shelters across the country receiving a $50,000 grant from Purina Cat Chow.
Shelter workers will use the money to renovate the building's feline spaces. Thursday afternoon, a team of Purina volunteers tacked on the finishing touches of the animal shelter's new 'catio.'
"When we came upon this facility and we saw Bud, the passion that he and his team have, the vision that he has, and the opportunity to really make a significant difference with the work that we can do out here, um, we felt like it was just a perfect fit for our program," said Vincent Birosak, Director of Marketing for Purina Cat Chow.
The renovation is a part of the Purina Cat Chow "Building Better Lives" program, and the new "catio" adds an additional 300 square feet of space for the shelter's cats to enjoy.
Registration fees for hybrid-electric vehicles could be going up.
