ROGERS, AR-- The ninth annual Secchi Day was in full swing at the Prairie Creek Pavilion at Beaver Lake.

Volunteers had free exhibits, educational activities, and boat tours to educate families about water safety and cleanliness. Lunch was served and door prizes were given away.

KNWA's Dan Skoff was on hand to emcee the event.

Volunteer Amy Wilson says the turnout this year was the best she's ever seen.

"Part of the community has come out to help us learn more about the lake and do it in a fun way. "

The name "Secchi" comes from a small black and white disk that is used to measure water cleanliness.

The festival included activities for all ages, with a mobile aquarium, a scavenger hunt, boat rides, birding walks, fish identification and more.
