SPRINGDALE - The City of Springdale is hoping to slow down drivers along a stretch of the new Don Tyson Parkway.

Wednesday, transportation officials approved lowering the speed limit from 45 to 35 miles per hour, along a curvy part of the road between Thompson and Turner Streets.  Springdale Public Works Director Sam Goade says several speed-related accidents have occurred in that area recently.

Thursday morning, crews will be putting up the new speed limit signs. Goade says his department is also looking into installing mounted radar speed signs in that area in the near future.
