Springdale Coach Arrested for DWI

FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- A Springdale coach was booked into the Washington County Jail for DWI.

According to a police report, William Cory Jacobs was driving his Dodge Pickup on Colorado Drive when officers say he made an improper turn onto W. Wedington Drive and was driving out of the lane. After pulling him over at Wedington and Rupple, investigators say they found the driver "highly intoxicated."

The officer said Jacobs had blood shot eyes and slurred speech. He would not tell officers how many alcoholic beverages he had consumed, but did tell officers he had both beer and mixed drinks. In the police report, investigators stated Jacobs took a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and was then taken to Washington County Sheriff's Office. The report states Jacobs refused to take a chemical test of his breath.

Jacobs was released from jail Sunday evening. Cory Jacobs is listed as an Assistant Football Coach at George Junior High School in Springdale.
