The food and drug administration approved liberia's request for access to z-mapp, and sample doses of the medicine will be sent to liberia this week to treat doctors who have contracted the virus.

A humanitarian crisis in Northern Iraq, as residents flee the ISIS offensive along the Sinjar mountain. Thousands of people have fled across the Iraqi Kurdish border into Syria and then crossing back into safer areas of Iraq. Women, men, children and the elderly carrying only the clothes on their backs, traveling hours to take refuge along the river banks. Central command says US forces "successfully" conducted an airstrike on Tuesday against an ISIS mortar position North of Sinjar, and the US could be sending as many as 75 more military advisers to Iraq.

Federal civil rights investigators and the FBI have opened investigations into the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, who was killed Saturday. Ferguson police will not release the name of the officer who shot him because of threats made to another officer who was falsely accused on social media of being the shooter, Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson said today. Michael Brown's parents rejected suggestions by police the teenager went after the officer's gun before being fatally shot.
