The Pulse: Malaysia: Plane Crashed in Indian Ocean

The Malaysian government announces that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 crashed into the Indian Ocean, but the search for the wreckage is ongoing. This is Monday's edition of "The Pulse."

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and its 239 passengers and crew went down in the southern part of the Indian Ocean. That is the word Monday from the Malaysian government. But where exactly the plane is, how it got there and why are questions left unanswered, at least for now.

Rescue efforts continue after a deadly landslide in the small Washington town of Oso. So far, eight bodies have been pulled from the scene. At least 108 people are unaccounted for or missing, and those number could grow. Some of the victims were simply driving when the hillside collapsed.

A commuter train derailed at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. More than 30 people were hurt when the train jumped a bumper at the end of the line and moved up an escalator. The injuries were not life-threatening. Authorities will be looking into a number of factors, including how fast the train was going.

Apple could be eyeing a partnership with cable provider Comcast. The Wall Street Journal says the two companies are holding talks. It could result in Comcast delivering an Apple-branded TV service the same way it delivers phone calls and video-on-demand. The Journal reports the two companies are not close to a deal.

TV's Judge Joe Brown arrested for contempt of court in Memphis Monday. The commercial appeal reports 66-year-old Brown became verbally abusive with a judge while representing a client in a child support case. He was sentenced to 5 days in jail, one for each act of contempt. Brown's TV show was canceled last year.
